I’m going camping for about a week, in the woods, with no electricity (no internet, video games, tv…)
I have a tent trailer.
So…. what kind of things can I pack for entertainment? I’m already taking books, a sketchbook, my MP3 Player, and a portable DVD Player that runs on batteries. Is there anything else I could take, or any activities I could do that can make my camping trip not boring?

Generally, the idea of camping is to enjoy the great outdoors and the company of those with you. Bringing electronics kind of defeats the purpose of camping. Try to enjoy the beauty of your surroundings by hiking or biking insead of sitting and watching movies. You can also try canoeing, or making friends with other people in the campgrounds. Mosty just enjoy being outside and being with others. You’ll find plenty to do without bringing a ton of stuff with you.
Bring a mountain bike its fun to ride around on your bike on rough grounds.
A deck of cards. I used to play cards a lot and highly enjoyed it. There are several advantages to a deck of cards – they are small, lightweight, don’t require batteries, and you can play a large number of different games with them.
And don’t forget a good stick for roasting marshmallows on. I can manage to spend quite a bit of time trying to produce the perfect toasted marshmallow. It takes a bit a practice and you will probably end up killing a few in the process, but there is great satisfaction in being able to eventually get one that is done to perfection!
A week without internet will be tough, but I’ve done it before and lived through it.
alcohol?
a campfire with some friends, some drinks and someone playing a guitar. Inevitably some pisshead has too much and sings/dances/lands in the fire but it’s fun!
or scout the site for an equally bored boy to "kil time" with?
You can go fishing, hiking, take pictures, play cards
Bring a friend. It wont be so boring then.
I would say maybe bring some magazines and maybe some board games if you’re going with other people. Also if you play a musical instrument – bring it! It would be great making music late at night with your friends!!
